My first college class.
18 05 2008Eon Mckai and I were invited to UCSB to speak to the kids in the porn 101 class. It went VERY well. At first I felt like I was going to puke. Then I remembered that Charles Bukowski used to keep a trash can next to his feet when he spoke to college classes just in case…So I embraced the feeling but the chunks never came. Better I didn’t puke. It makes for a bad first impression.
The experience was kind of surreal because I never had the opportunity to go to college myself so speaking in front of a class full of students my age was very intimidating… I didn’t want to come off as a dick like I know everything because I DON’T and I didn’t want to glorify the business either. I just tried to be honest and answer their questions.
Man, They were smart! It feels good to know that those students are the next “Big Shot Educated Future of America” and they are not afraid of sexuality!
Professor Constance Penley told the class that if it was up to her Eon and I would have honoree doctorates. I felt the chewy chucks rise to my throat once again.
My classrooms look old and much less modern. Then again I’m old. My college keeps banning your blog too so I can’t check it at work.
Grrr…

What did you actually have to go through with them though about the industry? Like how you started? and the career aspect or more along the lines of the Performances
Kimberly, congratulations on receiving such an honour. What was the smartest/craziest question asked?
The questions the students asked me were not that crazy. They are very educated in my field so I would just elaborate on stuff they already knew. For example here are some of the questions.
Q: Did being a dancer make it easier to go into porn?
A: Yes. Because I got used to being nude in front of people so it made it a lot easier.
Q: What does your mom think about what you do?
A: My mom was sooo pissed at first but once she realized I was healthy and happy with what I do she started being proud of me.
Pretty basic personal questions.
